Georges Pierre Guinegault was born in Rennes, France on March 27, 1893. At the age of 19 he began his studies at l’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. In 1920 he exhibited at the Paris salons becoming a member of the Société des Artistes Français. He is best known for his seductive painting of women and Orientalist scenes. His Moroccan works are today particularly sought after.

He lived in Montparnasse, Paris where he rented a mansion at 7 rue Jules Chaplain. In 1933, his studio was located in rue Dieulafoy.
